Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)

Specialist leaders of Education (SLEs) are outstanding middle and senior leaders who possess the skills needed to provide support, in their area(s) of expertise, to other schools.  Each SLE is associated with a Teaching School which provides ongoing training and support to the SLE to carry out their role.

Recruitment of SLEs  - Spring 2019

The application window for recruitment of SLEs will open on Monday 21st January 2019.  The deadline for applications is Friday 15th February 2019.

The teaching schools are looking for middle and senior leaders with at least 2 years of leadership experience.  Whilst outstanding in what they do, potential SLEs can apply from any school, regardless of its Ofsted grade.  Applicants should have a successful track record of working effectively in their own school or across a group of schools and be able to give evidence of successfully coaching or facilitating sustainable improvements.

LTT operates joint SLE recruitment to ensure efficiency and equity, however, a SLE can only be designated by 1 teaching school.  Therefore, please note that should you be successful in your application to become a SLE, you will be designated by the teaching school to which you submitted your application.
